Saw a bit of this on the news last night, neat video! They got "a bit" of snow down in the South Island yesterday, this is a train they used to clear the lines. Check out how high the drifts are at around 1:05 or so!

I am still around. I've had a busy, and very exhausting, weekend. I'm sore and tired and ready to go back to work! I spent about 4 to 5 hours yesterday just dealing with the shed. I pulled almost everything out, put together the 2nd steel shelf unit, went through a bunch of boxes and old gardening stuff. Then I put it all back into the shed. ( Read more... )

The opening ceremonies for the Rugby World Cup 2011 are underway. I'm not into rugby but it's been fun to see the hype as people at work get excited, and the opening ceremonies are impressive. The 20-strong Maori wakas representing several Iwi (tribes) paddling into the harbour was neat. Waka are beautifully artistic, carved and painted with ( Read more... )
